Free stuff is always great, but it's especially great right now!

So today I'm sharing my favourite 16 free resources, to help your business thrive. If you have any questions about any of them, please just let me know. These are all things we use and love here at The Unicorn Advisory ✅

ClickUp​

This incredible tool is the hub of our business. We have a team of 5, all in different time zones and this keeps us all in sync and knowing what's going on. It allows for client collaboration, has supurb flexibility for how to view tasks (board, list, calendar, gaantt etc) AND it's FREE!

The company is incredible, constantly rolling out improvements and updates and I LOVE it! There are so many amazing features and it just keeps getting better and better! We are loving the new dashboard feature to see where things are at in an instant.

There is a paid version, but you can do so much with the free version, you probably won't need to use that (and even when you do, it's just a few $$ a month). I don't know what we would do without ClickUp! One app to replace them all is so very true!

Skillshare​

This is like netflix for learning, with hundreds of thousands of courses on hand. If you want to add a new skill, learn a new software or expand your offerings - skillshare is a perfect place to start.

Especially as you can get two months FREE access to have a look around and take all the incredible courses on offer.

There is everything here, from business to craft to software training, cooking, art - almost everything you could ever imagine!

Kajabi​

This awesome free dashboard lets you track key business metrics at a glance. See how your social media followers or website visits are growing over time. Even link up Stripe and Paypal to quickly track your sales and income.

You can add up to 8 metrics on the free plan and easily track your stats on a single dashboard, which is super helpful.

​Affiliate Program Starter Guide​

If you're thinking about creating an affiliate program to promote your business (which I recommend you do, it's a great idea to bring extra income into your biz!) Zoe Linda is the person you need.

Zoe has an amazing in depth affiliate course to teach you literally everything you need, but her free affiliate guide on it's own, is incredibly helpful to get you started.

Affiliate programs are a fantastic way to increase your revenue and expand your visibility.

​Canva​

If you don't yet have a Canva account, you're missing out and you need to get one stat! This free online software (and app) enables you to quickly and easily create graphics for your business.

No complicated adobe Illustrator, just an easy to use online tool that is loaded with graphics. It's also filled with loads of amazing photos, templates, icons, illustrations and more.

This free tool is one that I couldn't do without and Canva Pro just makes it even better!

​Full page screen capture​

Whenever I see a beautiful landing page I love, I take a screenshot, so I can refer back later to my favourites for creative inspiration. Sales pages are often only up for a short time, so you can't refer to them after launch promotions are finished. Previously, I used to take multiple screenshots, scroll, capture, scroll capture etc because sales pages often tend to be long.

Then I discovered the Full Page Screen Capture google chrome extension. Now screenshotting a long sales page is a breeze! This is one free tool I''ll keep using for a long time!

It is also super helpful for getting screenshots of your own pages for portfolios and if you use screenshots in your work - such as software tutorials or explaining how to use your website.

​Beginners Guide To Convert Kit​

If you're new to Convert Kit, this free mini course from Convert Kit Expert Elizabeth Buckley-Goddard The Beginners Guide To Convert Kit is such a great way to improve your experience.

These tips and tricks will help you make the most of Convert Kit and learn some helpful information!

You'll also find lots of fantastic free Convert Kit information on Elizabeth's website.

​Loom​

One of my favourite video apps is loom, which is a chrome extension for recording yourself or your screen.

I've recorded hundreds of course videos and screenshare software instructions with Loom. You can download the videos for editing or you can just send them out as a link. I've also made pre-recorded (evergreen) webinars using Loom as well.

The free version is amazing or upgrade to the paid version for unlimited videos.

​Rescue Time​

Do you sometimes get distracted and wonder where your time has gone? Hmmm guilty!

But when that happens, a quick visit to rescue time gets me back on track! This app tracks the time you spend on each app, program and website, so you can measure your productive and not so productive time.

You can set goals for how much time you want to allow yourself for non-productive tasks, and you'll get a reminder if you're exceeding that. I've used this app for years and it is super helpful (and FREE!)

​IFTTT​

This is one of the greatest software app's I've found, I continue to be amazed that it is still free!

​IFTTT means if this then that. It helps connect software and systems together to automate your business (and save you time!) Plus there is some super cool stuff you can do if you have smart apps, Post on instagram and want to add the same picture to twittter (without even thinking about it?) there is a (zap) for that.

Want your smart lights to flash every time you get a sale? You can set that up, add all your new instagrams to a Pinterest board or add new wordpress posts to Facebook. You can have a lot of fun exploring the options.

​Toggl time tracker

Have you ever wondered how long it takes you to do things in your business so you can work out your actual hourly rate (and make sure you're not undercharging?)

Or do you need to track how long you work on client projects? Maybe you just want to track how much time you work on different projects each week so you can track where your time is going?

Toggl is a brilliant free app that helps you track your time easily. There is also a chrome app with a stop start button and it integrates with lots of different software.

​AppSumo​

This is like a treasure chest of software at incredibly low prices (think kickstarter for software) most of it for a low lifetime license! But what is amazing, is that often they have great free deals too!

I've used half a dozen free apps and tools that I've got from AppSumo (from SEO tools, to icons, to subscription tracker) and all you need to do to access them is sign up for a AppSumo account. Plus when you sign up, you'll also get $10 towards your first purchase if you see something awesome!

Virtual Assistant Interns​

If you'd like some low cost or possibly free Virtual Assistant help for your business, join our awesome group where we connect new virtual assistants (who have gone through our training in Unicorn VA School) with businesses who need help.

In exchange for a testimonial or being able to use the work they do for you in their portfolio, you could get anywhere from 2-15 hours of free help from a new virtual assistant. Some VA's could be after a trainee position - which gives them a chance to gain experience and you a chance to get incredibly cost effective help. It could even lead into a longer term arrangement if you fall in love with your VA.

Just join the group and create a post with what you'd like help with.

​Gorgias Email Templates​

If you spend a lot of time writing emails, the free gorgias email templates will save you time and make replying to emails a breeze!

You can save whole emails or snippets as templates, that you can then easily insert with keyboard shortcuts, to make composing emails super fast.

Use your templates in gmail or outlook online, even Facebook and LinkedIn - the only catch is that you have to be using Chrome.

And it's totally free!

​Klaviyo​

If you have an ecommerce store - especially if it's on Shopify, Klaviyo is absolute best in class for ecommerce email. It integrates seamlessly with Shopify (one of the easiest and best integrations I've used with any software!) and it's FREE for the first 250 subscribers, so perfect if you're just starting out.

It's an incredibly powerful system with incredible functionality, used by the world's top ecommerce brands.
